Enrolment Scheme

Our school has concluded that there is no longer a continuing need for an enrolment scheme at our school to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding. we have requested to abandon the enrolment scheme. This is formal notice under Clause 8(2)(a) of Schedule 20 of the /education and Training Act, that we have decided to abandon our school’s enrolment scheme.

An enrolment scheme is the only legal mechanism that a school to control student numbers and enrolments. Without an enrolment scheme, schools must enrol all eligible students that wish to enrol, regardless of where they live. In the future, if our school roll reaches the point where the school is at risk of overcrowding, MOE will contact you to discuss implementing a new enrolment scheme. This would be the most likely response to roll growth rather than any property solutions.
