I was delighted to be appointed as Principal at Roseneath School and have been made to feel very supported by staff, pupils and their families. I have been part of the Roseneath family since 2018 when I was appointed as Deputy Principal.  I am excited to have the opportunity to develop my leadership skills among a staff so passionate in developing our pupils in an inclusive and vibrant environment. Roseneath School is a dynamic place where there is always something creative and inspiring happening to make our learners flourish.

I am married to John and we have two children, Ayrton and Lauren, who both live in Te Whanganui a Tara. We love our motorhome and enjoy exploring the Wellington region and all it has to offer.

Kia ora, I am privileged to teach the senior students in Upper Bridge. I have been teaching since the 80s, and having taught every level, I know that I particularly love teaching this age group. I am also the staff representative on the BOT, another honour.

I have been lucky to teach in a variety of great schools around Wellington and know that we have something very special here with our community. My children went through this school and are now undertaking tertiary level education. I am grateful they were part of my journey here.

Given time, I spend my free moments reading or walking – great ways to relax. If I had more time, I would be boating with the family.

I joined Roseneath in 2019, and I teach our middle school students in Lower Bridge. Prior to Roseneath, I was studying for my Graduate Diploma of Teaching, working in an early childhood centre as a reliever, and in a special needs school as a teacher aide.  I have a degree in physical geography and a work background in ICT.  I spent a year abroad teaching English to students in South Korea and then travelled the world for seven months.

I am a mum to an amazing daughter. We enjoy spending our weekends wandering around Zealandia, playing and listening to music, and exploring new things and places.  I love biking and skating (inline and roller) so look out for me in fluro before and after school.

I love the school culture of Roseneath. It is an inclusive environment with everyone working together to make the school a wonderful place for students to develop and learn.

Kia ora, I have recently joined this wonderful Roseneath community, and I have the privilege of teaching Year 5 & 6 in The Long Boat. I have spent the last 2 years teaching this age group and I love it. I have previously taught Year 3 & 4.

Roseneath School has made me feel welcome, from the staff, students and the families I have met. This school has a wonderful “feel”, it is tangible as you enter the gates.

We have relocated to Wellington, through a career move for my husband, no hardship as we love Wellington. We have spent a lot of time visiting over the last 4 years as my daughter was studying at Victoria University. My youngest daughter embarks on this journey this month too.

Prior to the move I lived in Taupō for 21 years, originally from North Wales. I met my kiwi husband whilst he was on his OE and moved back with him to Gisborne. I trained later in life through Waikato University and I have loved my teaching journey so far.  I really enjoy building relationships with my students and their families, as well as the people I work with. Roseneath are a friendly bunch so that has been easy to do.

In my spare time I love to read, spend time with my family and friends, cook and enjoy a day at the beach.

I teach our juniors in Lower Deck and I love teaching this level. I’ve worked in other schools in Wellington and Nelson, and  spent a year teaching in London. As well as teaching in Lower Deck I conduct the school choir, co-ordinate our language learning programmes with Tomoko and Henare, and try to help you all get reunited with your lost property.

I love teaching in the junior end of the school because the children are so creative and imaginative. Outside of school, I love spending time with my children, walking the dog, music and reading when I find the time.

I joined Roseneath School in 2011 and have been happy teaching the New Entrant and Year One students ever since. I am now lucky enough to have taught almost every child at our school! Prior to this, I taught at Redwood School in Tawa for five years (also with Year Ones!).

I love welcoming new students to our school and getting to know our families. I love teaching junior children because they are so enthusiastic in their learning. The ‘lightbulb’ moments that they have are pure joy! Working in a small school means that I get to continue to see the children develop throughout their time here. It is wonderful to see them grow in their skills and confidence.

DanceSplash is a real highlight for me each year, as we get to work with Year 3-8 students to create and perform a dance at the Michael Fowler Centre as part of the Artsplash Festival.
