I’m Airihi Mahuika and, with Peter Alsop, we have 4 children at school – Max (Year 8), Isabella (Year 6), Zeb (Year 4) and Lexi (Year 2). We’re very grateful for the supportive learning environment at Roseneath and the supportive wider school community. I was co-opted to the board last year and have enjoyed working in this way to support the school and work collaboratively with other board members. I’m passionate about ensuring a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all kids, and providing a great workplace for our wonderful staff. I’ve held senior legal and leadership roles across both the private and public sector, and bring these skills to the board, alongside my strong focus on relationships, collaboration and integrity. I am also very supportive of the school’s commitment to kaupapa Māori and whakapapa to Ngāti Porou.

Matt Langworthy

Hi, I’m Matt, Dad to Henry (Year 7) and Gus (Year 4). We live in the neighbourhood, and love this part of town. If you see us walking, running or biking around, say hi! During the day I work for the Human Rights Commission on rights issues faced by our rainbow communities. On the Roseneath School Board I’ve been helping with finance and property. It’s a pleasure to help out in this wonderful school community.

Kate Prickett

Kia ora, I’m Kate Prickett. I am a parent to two Roseneath students, Josephine (JoJo, year 5) and Hugh (year 3). I am a born and raised Wellingtonian, but spent my ex-pat years in the United States before returning to raise our children in Aotearoa.

My day job involves directing a research centre at Victoria University of Wellington that examines the intersection of public policy, family wellbeing, and child development, as well as lecturing on policy analysis and social policy. I also currently serve on the boards of two non-profit organisations in Wellington aimed at supporting vulnerable families.

I’m passionate about an education system and schools that serve all children and tamariki, and the role our schools can play in meeting the diverse needs of our children. I’ve seen the way my children have benefited from their first few years at Roseneath and want to ensure that our school leadership and teachers are supported in ways that allow more children to continue to receive that experience.

I’m looking forward to supporting Roseneath School’s vision of being a “vibrant, inclusive school community where children love to learn.”

Nikos Skepetaris

Kia ora koutou, I’m Nikos and my wife Anna and I are parents of Amelia (12), Andreas (4) and Styliana (1) and long-term residents of the Roseneath Community.

I currently work as a General Manager in the telecommunications sector, while Anna takes time away from her teaching role to spend quality time with our tamariki before they start school.

We are a proud and active local family and I’m excited to join the board of Roseneath School and the opportunity to serve the school and our wider community.

Sarah Roan

Kia ora koutou, Ko Sarah Roan tōku ingoa. I’ve been living in Wellington for nine years with my husband, Mike Roan. Prior to moving to Aotearoa I was living in the US where I grew up in the suburbs outside Boston, MA. Our youngest daughter, Addie Roan is in Aft class and our older daughter, Ashlee Roan attended Roseneath School from years 5 – 8. We also have a 20 year old, Ethan, at home…safe to say, there’s rarely a dull moment in the Roan household! I consider myself to be truly blessed having Ash & Eth in my life – they are my ‘bonus kids’ (aka: stepkids). Professionally, I have worked in People & Leadership (HR) teams in both the private and public sector in both the US and here in NZ. I specialise in the areas of leadership development, team building, culture, engagement and coaching. It’s an honor to be on the Roseneath School Board and give back to the school community that has given our whānau so much.
