School Donations & Contributions

Supporting Our Kura

While the Ministry of Education funds the core infrastructure and daily operations of our school, we rely on the fantastic support of our community to provide an exceptional learning environment.

Because we are a smaller kura, the voluntary donations and contributions from our whānau are vital. They make up a significant portion of our operating revenue and directly fund the 'extras', from digital learning tools and hassle-free stationery to our frequent trips out to explore the Wellington CBD. We deeply appreciate your ongoing support to keep these opportunities thriving!

1. The Annual School Donation

We request an annual school donation of $500 per student. Because this is a voluntary donation, it is eligible for a 33.33% tax credit from the IRD at the end of the financial year. We are very happy to take payments in instalments for the annual donation.

2. Activity & EOTC Contributions

At Roseneath, we aim to make the most of our spectacular location close to the central city. To cover the costs of transport and Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) experiences, we request an Activity Contribution of $20 per term (or $80 annually) per child.

3. Stationery & Learning Subscriptions

We know how busy back-to-school time is, so we aim to keep things as simple as possible for our whānau!

• Stationery: Instead of sending you to the shops with a long list, Roseneath School provides all the necessary classroom stationery for your child. This is simply itemised on your school account as a goods and services contribution (typically around $65).

• Digital Learning: Subscriptions for high-quality digital learning programmes, such as Stepsweb, are also managed by the school and itemised on your account (typically around $20).

Additional Programmes

From time to time we may ask for small optional contributions for specific activities like swimming lessons or school lunches.
